A/C Issue

Guys my AC blows cold air out for about 20 minutes then the air out of the vents remains cold but bearly trickles out.

If I turn off the AC for 10 minutes and turn it back on its fine for a short time again.

The fan is working fine and I have checked the doors and mechanisms (took the dash apart to ensure the doors are operating) and they are working fine. I actually removed the fresh air door because it fell ontop of the fan two months ago.

The drain hose does not appear to be clogged (i ran a screw driver through wih out an obstruction).

Any suggestions guys on what to try next?

thank you,

JOhn

Could be an icing issue on the evaporator. If you are pulling the outside air and not using the inside air setting it could be causing an icing issue as it is quite humid this time of year in your part of the country, correct ? Dodge had an issue with the evap sensor location. I relocated mine from the center to the corner and have never had an icing issue even with outside air in humid conditions. Have you added any refrigerant (with the do-it yourself cans) to the system ? I have seen an overfill of refrigerant cause system icing and poor performance.

Sounds like you are low on refrigerant. Check or have the charge checked. You are freezing up.

Low refrigerant charge, get it serviced up and you should be good to go.

Unfortunately for a lot of us.........Trial and Error!!!

You're definitely low on 134 which is causing the evap core to ice up and restrict air flow across it, thus, no air flow through the vents.
