a/c??

Wasnt sure if this was consider engine tech or not but the a/c is part of the engine so I am putting this here. I need to check the freon on my '05 CTD. I know they pressure on the low side should be 35 on a regular gas engine and you idle it up to 2K RPMs to check it. I was wandering if it was the same on a diesel? Also anyone know where the low pressure switch is so that I can jumper it to make the compressor kick on? My a/c compressor isn't coming on and I think it is just because it is low on freon.

The best way to ck freon level is to have it recovered & weigh what is removed.Pressures vary w/ ambient temps & can be misleading.Your system does not have a low pressure switch-it has a pressure transducer, which is not easily jumped.

I guess that they changed it since the 2nd generation dodges then? On my '97, '98, and '01 I have just jumpered the low pressure switch on the dryer mounted to the firewall and that would kick the compressor on. Is there any other way to kick the compressor on if it is low on freon?
