Building a Dually
I converted my 99 2500 to a drw flatbed. Used arrowcraft's conversion kit, worked out great. I get quite a few compliments on the truck, especially from others who knew the truck prior to the conversion. Makes it a much better work truck. The rear axle on a srw truck is about 6" wider than a true drw, so you'll have to keep that in mind, I don't have the fender kit on mine to compare the fit. My wheels stick out about 3 inches past the bed, which came off a 01 dually, but the rub rails come out about that far and cover them. I did a lot of measuring before I swapped the beds out. Good luck with it, I do recommend arrowcraft, really nice people and they answered all my questions on the conversion.
Thanks everyone for the helpful responses. I guess I need some practice at searching, couldn't get squat to come up. Lot's of good info here though. This isn't something I'm going to do tomorrow, but I'll be doing this withing the next nine months or so.
I'm wondering what the mega cab fenders would look like on a long bed? I kinda like 'em. I'm assuming they'd fit, the bed sides look to be the same. I saw a picture of them on a truck with a 10' bed that Dodge made (can't remember the mag., it was a few months ago).

I am interested in having the DRW rather than the SRW I have on my 06 Megacab.
All the parts should swap from truck to truck rather easy.
I'm in Montana but like to take vacations so I'm willing to travel...
I only have 17k miles on the truck, so it's almost new. Thats what happens when you are deployed to Afghanistan for a year...
