Brass plug in the exhaust manifold?

Brass plug in the exhaust manifold?

I am going to take my egt probe out for awhile, and I have a brass 1\8 plug, My question is will it take the heat or do I need to get a steel plug? Thanks

this is what i found on meltinf temps of some metals.it depends on which brass is mixed with that plug.

Admiralty Brass 1650 - 1720

Copper 1981

Iron, nodular 2050 - 3150
Iron, pure 2781 - 2799
Manganese Bronze 1590 - 1630
Monel 2370 - 2460
Nickel Wrought 2615 - 2635
Red Brass 1810 - 1880
Tin 449.4
Tantalum 5425
Titanium 3002 - 3038
Yellow Brass 1660 - 1710

T(oC) = 5/9[T(oF) - 32]
