Bit the bullet and ordered billet... Goerend!

I don't post around here much, after having problem after problem with my 02 I recently purchased a 05 Auto, this being my first auto work truck and I gotta say I'm loving it. I have noticed the trans gear hunting in the lower gears with much weight on it at all, and I decided that since time is money and downtime costs me money, today I called Goerend and told them to build me a new trans.

I'm getting billet everything, input, output, intermediate shafts and billet flex plate. Dave said I wouldn't need the billet intermediate but to me the peace of mind is worth the extra money.

Anyway I'm excited about getting the new trans, should be installed in a little over a week and I can't wait! I just had to post because the people I know offline don't really care and I know you guys will understand my joy!

That is great.

I'll be doing it one of these days as my tranny is easily slipping on OD lockup and has almost 170,000 miles on it.

Tell us how you like it.

If what I have heard/read about Goerend is anything close to accurate I'm sure I'll love it. Dave seems like a really nice knowledgeable guy on the phone. My truck only has 50,000 miles on it right now, and it still pulls hard in OD, but the gear hunt has me scared and I figure I might as well go all the way right now while I have the money. I'm sure I'll be so happy when I get it that I'll let the world know about it. LOL

You will love your trans.... it will change the truck. I have one and it has been flawless for the last 60,000. Dave is great to deal with and customer service is over the top.

For the full billet everything my total came up to $6700. It's another $200 each way for shipping so my total is $7100.

Most people can probably get off a lot cheaper, I got more than Dave said I needed and I abuse the truck pretty hard and told him about it. I just wanted the piece of mind..

It's no problem at all. The price isn't something I really need to try to forget about as it's simply an investment. Just like chips save you money in the long run with increased mileage, a transmission I won't break will make me money by eliminating downtime (I hope).

For a comparison, a similar transmission from Suncoast was going to cost me about a grand more than the Goerend, from what I have read I'm not going wrong with either of the two, but after talking with Dave I was sold on the Goerend. He was very polite and didn't seem bothered where as the guy I talked to with Suncoast acted like I was just wasting his time...

I'll be honest, I have looked and looked for anything bad about goerend on this and other forums and have yet to find anything. That is what sold me on Goerend. I feel like I'm getting a great deal. I'm paying less for great customer service, when I'm the type that will pay more for it. (shhh, don't tell Dave!)
