Best Way To Change A Carrier Bearing?

A driveshaft longer than 60" opens up a whole new set of problems. Check any good engineering text.

Just took mine off and called a local frame and axle shop and they did the bearing and replaced a ujoint for around 140. I supplied the ujoint.

Carrier bearing at Fleet Pride was about $65. They changed all of my U-joints front and rear drive shafts and carrier bearing and balanced said shafts for about $258. Original carrier bearing was ok but the rubber bushing not so much
