Question Been Reading Till I'm Blue in the Face

I've got a 2006 2500 Dodge SLT 4x4 automatic transmission truck that gets about 2-3K miles on it yearly. I tow a 6000 lbs boat any where from 5 miles to 12 miles to launch. Hey I live in Juneau so not far to any where.(all stock except the ranch hand bumper and a leveling kit on the front end. No big *** tires etc, just plain jane stock.
The steering box has been leaking so it's time to replace it. I've been told that the new 6 bolt HD 68170214AA steering box is the way to go. BUT the big problem here is finding a well made steering stabilizer that fits this new box. Anyone out there have a good quality stabilizer that fits this new gear box?
I was told by one shop here in town to forget the stabilizer but from what I've read that piece of equipment will extend the life of the steering gear box.

You might talk to these guys. They live and breathe Dodge's and Fords.

I went with a Hellbent steel stabilizer and it has worked well for me. Just have to make sure that you order the one designed for the updated box.

I haven’t found much info on this steering box upgrade. Did you get a box off of a 4th gen truck? If not, what? And how is your experience with the upgrade?

Thanks for the info

I've only done thew stabilizer bracket not the upgraded box. That said, I believe the only difference in the stabilizer between the 2 is that you need a different pitman arm retaining nut adapter/bearing depending on what box you have.
