Barking the turbo
Barking the turbo
My question is when the turbo barks, Does it push oil out anywhere? Since i put the turbo on and did the injectors and with it being a 6spd i have been barking the turbo pretty easily. Well looked under the hood today to unplug it before work and i saw some oil spatter over the bay. I like to keep under the hood clean and i saw that. After work i went to my garage and looked around. It seems to be seeping out around the turbo boot and turbo boost tube. Is that a problem and why is it leaking out of there? Any insight would be great. Thanks all.
How long you have it installed? No it's not normal for a turbo bark to spray oil. Need better visuals to tell (post pics if you can), but possibly the oil return line on the turbo is leaking. Very likely after a turbo install.
Thanx smoker, yeah i was looking at the two lines. The drain line is ok but the oil line from the filter housing to the turbo has alil oil on it. The 2 bolts holding the adapter for the line is tight and the gasket is in place. Made sure of that before putin the turbo in the truck and checked the bolts last nite. The turbo has been on the truck for little less than a year. It seems ok today but i will pull the tube off this weekend to see how things look in there. Thats what gets me is that it doesnt do it all the time. Maybe its if i push the turbo and blows out the upper line. Who knows?? Thanx again though.
