Balljoints bad at 37K miles, lol?

I have a buddy that all his were shot at 7k miles. He bought MOOG ball joints and the dealer installed them under warranty, but he did pay for the parts. He just didn't want to mess with the factory ones. He has over 50k with out any problems.
