Ball joint selection
Ball joint selection
Time to do the front balljoints. Looking at my options.
Napa $374
XRF $235
I am not going to be keeping the truck long enough to warant dynatrac or carli.
Moog seems to get some bum reviews.
I am leaning towards the XFR based on price are there any negatives with them or any other option that I should consider.

I used the NAPA (Moog) joints my first go around and I got about 8 yrs of service out of them. Just swapped in the XRF's and did the 08+ steering upgrade and I must say, it's a huge difference. The XRF's claim to have a lifetime warranty with them....don't know if anyone has tried to use it or not. Some claim they recieved greasable joints and others, like myself, recieved the non-greasables.
So far, I like them!!!

man that is the third differnt company I have read that is who nappa sources from. haha.
If they are moog I don't want them. I heard they were spicer. Sombody else said dynatrac but that sounded very BS to me.
I think I am going to do XFR with the 08 upgrade. be $535 and see what happends. I found the updated install procedure related to breaking the tie rod so I think I have all the bases covered.

My XRF boxes said "Made in China"........go figure!!!! Anyhow, those, coupled with the new steering setup, made a great difference in my steering feel. I probably should adjust my steering box a little since it does have a few hundred thousand miles on it but I'll wait and give the whole new setup a few thousand more miles to break in right.
I guess in the mean time I really should flush my steering system since it is 9yrs old.....it can't hurt!!!
