ball joint replacement
Ball joints replaced 2 years ago then last year the lube tech said they were getting loose again, they told me to bring it in to a mechanic and have them check and they said they were fine now about another year later same thing anybody go through ball joints that fast, I only have 58,000 mi. on it, and to go through another set in 2 years when my original lasted almost 6 years it just doesn't make any sense.
I believe the spec is .090" of play. You can check it yourself by raising each tire off the ground and prying upward with a crow bar. Best to borrow a dial indicator from a machinist friend for an accurate read. Or you can just be like me and drive it until you can't stand the wander anymore. When you step on the brakes hard and the truck changes lanes by itself then you know it's time to get new ones.
The stock one in my '03 were replaced under warranty at 35k, then I did them again myself at 100k when I sold it. If you're in for a long-term relationship with your truck, the typical answer is "pay double (triple?) for the Carl's and be done with it."

Anyone used NAPA Chassis Line Ball Joints. They have a limited lifetime warranty (I know they won't last forever but may not have to buy the next set) Wondered if they were OK or at least as good as the Moogs.
