ball intall today and got ????'s

hi all!!!!
this is an a great site for good info and i've got a question for you. i'm going to install ball joints on my 03 2500 and read read some great posts on how to do it which was a great help but know my ? is which ball joints to use. i see that some people dont care for moog. my problem is that i bought ball joints yesterday and bumper to bumper only had the lower and it is a moog so i went to napa and got the upper would you use the two on the same side or not? i like the lower moog because its greaseble and the napa lower one is not. what would you guys do???????????

thanks for any input

I would take them both back and order XRFs. There have been many, many installations of moogs and then complaints of wandering and not returning to center. The XRFs are a little harder find (got mine on Ebay) but I think they are a good value and a good product. Good luck!

Well said! Take em back and get xrf. Depends how much you wanna spend, but xrf will set you back about $225 for all 4.There are much more expensive ones out there if you wanna spend more. And others if you wanna do em again.

Put the Moogs in mine. Front end seemed a lot tighter after. No probelems so far. Only been like 2000 miles though.

I bought Moog because I work at an auto parts store and go them at cost and easy access to warranty.

Thought about the XRFs but what do you do for warranty?

Thought about Carli, but $800 for ball joints is retarded.

I thought the ball joints were cake to do. Put mine in the freezer and went in easy.

Used a jaw/gear puller and power steering trick and hubs came off easy.

This is the thread I used

Seems like about 90% of the Moog's are bad. How many times do you want to change your ball joints?

I'd use Norris McQuay.

I had Moogs in mine. At 25K they were toast. I just replaced with XRF that I bought off Ebay for $211 for all four. The XRF seem much more heavy duty, but time will tell. The OEM ball joints went 80K.

ball joints

well i installed what i had saturday and i put in the moog on the lower and the napa on the upper, i wished i would have found this forum sooner, and then i would have gone with the xrf ball joints for sure. but i already had it torn down by friday night and had the parts so i put it back together sat. morning. the bearing came off real nice. i had that side apart 2yrs ago for a u-joint and used never sieze and along with the trick using your power steering it popped right off. so well see how long the moogs last

thanks for the input
