Auto Transmission Fluid
Um - I'm not sure if the Mopar ATF+4 is actually a full synthetic. I thought I read on the label that it was made from synthetic stock or something like that. When I called the parts dept. at the local dealer I think they told me it was semi-synthetic.
I could be wrong though... Sheesh - this is the least helpful post I think I've ever posted.

More than likely if it is synthetic, it is made of group III base. This is technically dino oil. Amsoil and Redline are true synthetics. There are others I am sure, just two of the moe common types.

They also sell their own house brand (Super Tech) ATF +4 for $2.97. When it first hit the shelves, it was $1.99. I bought a case. Now it's gone. Should have filled a shopping cart.
I think everyone had the same idea as you, the last couple times I've looked it wasn't in stock.
My take and alot of other people's is the mopar ATF+4 is just plain hydro-cracked mineral based group III fluid with a good dose of additives. Have seen nothing to prove it's a group IV or V fluid.
