Anyone know if this will work?

After tons of searching I might have found a "real heavy duty" carrier bearing for my failing OEM piece through Dana/Spicer Corp. The part number is 210391-1X. Does anyone have any experience with one of these? I believe it was Comp. Diesel where I found an old thread of a guy with an '06 that claimed it solved his driveline vibrations but thats about where it ended...no more posts after that. Also, this extremely trick piece that holds the carrier bearing in place and is adjustable up/down/forward/rearward was shown with the post....offered by OneUpOffroad.com. If this support bearing is the real deal for our trucks then I'm definitely getting one of the brackets from said website to attach it to.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

C'mon guys, no one has any experience with trying to search for a better aftermarket carrier bearing?

The best way to fix your vibration issue is to replace the two-piece shaft with a one-piece shaft. It's the best upgrade I've done. Completely eliminated the shudder/vibration problems. Shaft was about $540 and shortening it was about $110.

I was really trying to avoid spending that much cash, especially since i have the nv5600 tranny which does require shortening the new one-piece shaft. If the Spicer carrier is legit, I can justify spending a hundred or so dollars to fix my shimmy and shake, but spending upwards of 600 bones right now just isn't in the budget.

if I am not mistaken there was a one piece you could buy as a direct replacement that was aluminium ? no shortening needed. I think it was around $600.00

I installed an "equivalent" part, a Torque Technology TT391-1X from Fleetpride and it worked ok for about 35k miles. A better quality part like the Spicer would probably last longer. The TT391-1X was $40.

WOW.....I forgot all about my post...you resurrected an old one. Put the Spicer unit in right after I posted this and it made a huge difference....for around $60. Local driveline shop stocks those all day long. Had a driveline related issue a few months ago that I COULD NOT figure out. Pulled driveshaft and replaced joints and carrier bearing (again for about $60), pulled wheels/tires off and checked wheel brgs and brakes, pulled front driveshaft and inspected, problem still there.....turns out a belt was popping in one of the tires. Rotated tires (for free) and problem solved!!

Anyhow, getting back on topic....the Spicer bearing is night and day difference from the factory junk the '03-'04 trucks came with......the newer trucks that retained the two-piece had a better design to them that seem to hold up a bit better than the older style.
