Have not heard any conversation re: the EGR on 2004 lately. Is there any update if it will be on all 2004's or just those sold/manufactured 01/01/04 and after?

 

Tom thats the million dollar question. All the dealers I've talked to say no EGR till Jan 1, but I'm personally waiting to order an 04 till the first ones come in a few weeks from now to make sure. Also they haven't announced the 04 incentives yet.

 

the dealers I've talked to don't know squat and just flap their little sales lips to hear themselves sound important without saying anything useful. One sales manager in Bellevue, WA actually told me that EGR was a definate in August and that the new HP and torque numbers were different -- for new 2004 trucks delivered in August.

So I called DC about my truck which is currently being built. They faxed me an 03 spec sheet for the engines and said, "I know this is for 2003 but its what we're building right now for the first 2004s. there are no engine changes in 2004, including the lack of a approved HO in California."

So that makes me pretty comfortable. However, we won't know for certain until one of the early 2004 orders actually arrives -- mine isn't due until September but there are some others due here very soon.
