Any 6 speeds get a clunking from the drivetrain?
As many know I have a 6 speed and sledpull.
Last year sometime I started getting one time clunk coming from the transfer case or front driveshaft area of the truck when starting out in the morning.
Lately the clunk is getting more pronounced like when I brake hard I'll get a "clunk" once.
I wonder if my transfer case is going out or could it be the cardan joint on the front driveshaft? Heck it could even be the tranny or a front suspension part.
Like I said it only clunks once when I load or unload the drivetrain. The rear driveshaft is brand new so thats ruled out. The clunk also doesnt happen all the time just sometimes...
I would hate to find out this year at a sledpull what the clunk was when it lets go!

Have you pulled the front d-line and taken it for a drive to see if it goes away??
When the CV goes bad on my jeep it makes a clunk every time the d-line makes a turn, and it was louder when it was in 4 wheel drive.
it does kinda sound like a lose/worn out U-joint????

Good idea on pulling the front driveshaft and seeing what happens. I'll do that. After thinking about it the clunk is more like a one time "pop".
