Antifreeze

I am confused

Yesterday I did an oil change and noticed that my antifreeze was a little low. Being the **** retentive diesel techhead that I am, I figured I would get a gallon of antifreeze for "inventory".

After sniffing around in the Dodge manual, I found out that this truck requires an antifreeze with H.O.A. T. in it.

My question is; where do you get it?

I checked Wallyworld and several truck stops and none of the had anything mentioning H.O.A.T......any help would be appreciated!

MOPAR anti-freeze

I just added some mopar-anti/freeze to my 2004 also. Here in michigan as far as I know, this coolant can only be bought at the dealer. Here are the numbers on the front of the coolant jug.MS-9769 it reads 5yr/100,000 mile embittered coolant. There is no mention of hoat on the Jug.I had the parts guy double check at the dealer,he told me this is the coolant I needed for my truck.I sure the hell hope so coobie

OK....So where do you buy this elusive elixer?

Are there any other brand choices? I would hate to go to the dealer for something as simple as antifreeze!

Try several parts stores in your area. I found the G-05 at an Auto Zone or Advance Auto parts store

Zerex G-05 or you can do the dirty deed....Dodge Dealer or Ford Dealer.

Pep Boys and Walmart may have it too.

Thanks everyone for your imput...I found it at Pep Boys on Decateur near Charlston. They had about 8 gallons. I only needed one for inventory....so there are some left for other members of this forum!

Tried Auto Zone, Checker, Wallyworld and all the truck stops with no luck.

Hey Stingerpup, sorry for my ignorance, but what's a LCAC? Since you're in Camp Pendleton, I assume you're in the USMC, an association to be proud of.

Nope, sorry, not in the Corps....my head was too big for the jar.

If you look in my members gallery, you can see the 'truck' I went to Iraq in.

LCAC = Landing Craft, Air Cushion.

Do NOT use the Prestone Extended Life 5/150. It is the OAT / DexCool type. You want HOAT antifreeze.

What part of town do you live in? I grew up about 1/4 mile from that particular Pep Boys. Western High School class of '75.
