Amsoil OK with Non-Amsoil Filter

I've got a case of Amsoil Diesel Oil left over from my old days. Any problem with using a non-Amsoil filter and running the oil for 15000 miles? I'm not doing anything extreme. Also, which of the filters would you recommend?

Thanks, Ralph

no problem at all, i run amsoil oil with a fleetguard filter, most everyone here uses fleetguard. You can get them from geno's garage pretty resonable.

Fleetguard is a must if you want to maintain your warranty...

That is misinformation- the bulletin you refer to came out around 2002 IIRC. I do not think it applies to current model years. You cannot be forced to use a certain filter. Check the Moss Magnusson Act.
That is like saying "you can only use MOPAR ATF+4 and not Amsoil to maintain your warranty on your trans."

I have been using The Donaldson EA Endurance Oil Filters since I switched to Amsoil Synthetic. My dealer is aware as my truck has been seen by Dodge factory reps due to lots of smoke and injector problems. Those isssues have now been fixed with new injectors and a reflash. They DID tell me NOT to use K&N AIR filter or other oiled filters as they have seen a number of issues associated with those. ??? don't know but that is what they said. I can't imagine them voided your warranty as long as you use any of the premium oil filters out there. I, also, have the FS-2500 by-pass filter and asked them if it was OK to use. They said yes. PCM

I use a Fleetguard Stratapore filter and their factory recommended oil - Valvoline Premium Blue 15w40. I could just as easily use the Amsoil filter, it is well within the same specs as the Mopar filter or the Fleetguard filter. They cannot penalize you if you choose to use a filter other than theirs, but make certain the filter you use meets or exceeds their recommended filter. The Moss-Magnassen Act was written specifically to stop auto manufacturers and dealerships from 'requiring and demanding' you use their replacement parts specifically and voiding warranties because of their monopolistic demands.

I have the Amsoil Bypas filtration and DO use the Amsoil filter with it. I do oil sampling/testing with every oil change, good information to know exactally what's what with wear and your injectors, etc.

Guess I'll have to look into getting one of those Amsoil wrenches and a pair of their gloves too . . really hard to keep up with all these things.
