? about underhood mounting...

I'm going to try to mount a Motorguard bypass filter unit in my engine compartment. It's slightly larger than a roll of toilet paper. I've picked a location on the passenger side firewall. I'll make a bracket to hang the unit while still having access to tranny dipstick. It should be a good spot. My question is, I'd like to use some self-tapping screws in the firewall in that general location and I'm not sure exactly what is behind that area, and if it's ok to do this. I wouldn't think anything is directly behind that sheetmetal??
Any advice is appreciated...

if you do a search on here you will find that a member on this site makes a bracket to just bolt to the exhaust manifold. It is for the amsoil dual remote setup but should easily be modified to work for your particular setup.. I don't know what is behind the firewall myself so I just thaught you would like to know there is another option..

All of the heat and ac system is behind the pass side firewall so be really carefull before penetrating the sheet metel.
