600 MPG Vote
I went to my dealer last week and he said he got a new 600 in for stock. I asked him if I could drive it and he said sure. I reset the computer when I left the lot and drove it about 40 miles. I wasn't easy on it either because I wanted to see if it had the 2G vibration and the miss. Anyway when I returned to the dealer the mileage was averaging 17.4mpg. I was impressed and can't wait to get mine this week sometime (maybe).......
I hope my new one does that good.
I hope my new one does that good.
Have had my 04 truck a little over a week and it is only getting 16 mpg at the best. Disgusting since I was getting over 20 mpg on my 99 when it was new but could be the winter fuel too. Taking it for a long drive this weekend - hoping it will get better.
I took a 600 2500 4X4 auto for a test drive, not impressed. MPG around 14(reset indicated), and vibration from about 1700 to 2200 RPM. My 01 may stay mine until the 05's are out.
Looks like the vote is turning up some trends in MPG to base some expectations on.

Have only had mine for a few days (first post here too, btw...). It's a 2500, QC, LWB, 4x4, auto, 3.73's, running 17-315/70's. Just put fuel in it for the first time, only got 210 miles out of the first 17 gallons (mixed city/Hwy/hills/flat). Been driving a '98 V-10 for six years though, so that didn't seem too bad - and I sure like this truck!

I drove both today a 555 and a 600. I drove them about 25 miles each, took the same route and about the same acceleration on both drives. I reset the trip computer when I left the driveway.
The 555 got 13.6 mpg
The 600 got 17.4 mpg
The 600 seemed much peppier also, I can't wait for mine to get here.

I hope not.
If we keep it going a while longer more trucks might come up with highier milage, maybe ones produced at the beginning head some problems.
Previous generation's were more consistant acros the board, they were split along the lines of equipment AUTO, 6sp, 2WD, 4WD, SRW or DRW, new one's?
I am still working on the solution with my dealer.
If you own 600, PLEASE VOTE.
Regards Jack.

Build Date
Could owners of the trucks with highier mpg resoults post the build date that might be the key.
There is a post stating that there might of been some problems with erly injectors, causing misses and clatter.
Thank You, Jack

Well,,, I voted 14-16 when this started. Day before yesterday filled up and was high 16 computer and 17.4 calc. Things are improving. Truck felt very tight when I first got it. Did not want to roll or so it seemed. Now it is rolling easy and the engine does not appear to be working as hard. Engine was manufactured on 01-11-04 and is one of the ones that needed the reflash. Almost 200 miles on the current tank full and the computer is saying 17.9. I think I can live with that.
