Angry 59K Miles - Bad Ball Joints & Blown Front Bearing

Well, I bought new tires and rims a few weeks ago for the rig and the guy at the tire shop said my hub seemed to have too much play in it and recommended I get it checked.

Prognosis from the dealer: All front ball joints need to be replaced and the front driver's side bearing is bad. All for a grand total of $1700.

I asked him about the 70K Mile warranty and he said those parts were not covered.

My question to yall is - Are there any TSB's out there for either the ball joints or bearing? I about went through the roof when he told me they are not covered under the warranty.

Thank you Gentlemen.

The oem ball joints are real bad, mine were shot at 34k, had a small lift and 315's but they are going out in stock trucks also. Durango's had a recall but the rams just have bigger tolerances before they will replace them under the 36k warranty, I would suggest you put in greasable ones from moog or napa. Also,IMO the stock shocks are like pogo sticks and contribute to the early death of the balljoints, it's alot of weight bouncing up and down...........

Thank you for the reply. As soon as I get it back, I'm replacing the shocks and steering dampner with Rancho products.

I would do a little investigating on the wheel bearing. I think it would be covered under the 70,000 mile warranty. You are on your own for the upper and lowers.....
