After doing alot of studying I am not as excited to be getting a new 600 (fuel mileage), I asked a dealer rep about a 555 and he said it has never been available in CA. The 600 has only been available in CA for a couple months. What was the other CTD for 04 in CA and what was its rated HP and TQ. Thanks.

 

The previous CA version was the Standard Output engine with 235 hp and 460 torque. The manual tranny is a 5-speed (verses 6 for the HO/600) and the auto was/is either the 47RE or 48RE, maybe both but I don't remember.

 

Yep, 235 hp and 460 torque with the 48re on the '04 CA SO. Mileage on mine seems to be better than reported on the 600, but not as good as many of the HO's I've seen.

I'm right there with you on the mileage. Doesn't seem to be improving much. Kinda surprised the old HO got better mileage given the difference in HP and TQ. It's got to be associated with the emission controls and CAT. Mike
