my four wheel drive will not ingage from the switch. how do you trouble shoot this prob? the last time i used it was when we were in alaska but that was back in april. now we are in georgia i have checked all of the fuses and there all good. so what do yall think any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. i need to fix it myself dont much have the money to take it to the shop. i dont need the 4x4 now but i wont be able to sleep if i know the truck aint at 100%

 

Not sure that I can be much help but the first thing I would do is check the switch, wile the switch is out check for power at the connector (not sure if the switch passes +voltage or gives the - ).

I would check the transfer case for a solenoid that may be unplugged (is the TC enguaged by a solenoid?)

Mine has a shifter on the floor, so I don't know what yours is like, but on my last Chevrolet truck the 4wd would not work and it wound up being the button. The button module cost me around $80.

 

Just about have to have a scanner to diagnose it. There are several things that it could be. Mostly I see motor failures. Spend the money to have it diagnosed though. The motors aren't all that cheap that I'd just put one in.
