Maybe the F450 and up but I do know they were/are using Borg Warners
Gotta disagree with you here. Pre-99s did use the BW case, but 99-up 250s and 350s use the 271/273 - I know, I had one.

Maybe the 450s and 550s still use an HD BW? That I don't know.

That's what I meant... the F450 and up trucks.

UPDATE:

dropped the truck off yesterday morning at the dealer.
i asked the service writer about the brakes, and he said brakes are not covered under the 3/36 warranty..after some discussion, we came to the agreement that my rear brakes being trashed and my front brakes being fine, indicated mechanical failure of some kind, and not a maintenance issue. it took getting a tech out to discuss braking systems as well.

the intercooler boot is being replaced today under warrantee, which is nice , because i imagine the edge / excessive boost played a role in that failure.

the apillar grab handle is being replaced under warrantee as well.

the mirror vibrations on the passenger side will not be taken care of, as i or someone else driving the truck is at fault,...you can see a crack in the plasic cover which indicates it being hit by something, and not a manuf. defect.

the front drivers side hub cap is being replaced, of the eight retaining clips only four are still intact, the others broke off. also covered under warrantee.

the tail light short... is being replaced under warrantee, said it is a common failure to have corrosion on the "tail strip" and that they are fully aware of the problem.

the 4x4 is still not diagnosed, the tech wants to repair the rest of the stuff today, then diagnose the 4x4 prob. and get the parts in to repair it...... said if it will take a while, he will try to get the truck together by tomorrow afternoon, so that i can have the truck together for the weekend, then send it back whenever the parts come in for repair.......

so far i have been satisfied with the process.......i am sure it could have been worse at this point.......

also they want 75.00 to recalibrate the speedo.......is that a fair price?

thanks, chris

No on the $75 issue. I had mine done at Dodge Dealership for $31.50. IT takes about 15 minutes for them to hook up the DRB and enter the settings....for new tires...

Don't forget Tire Rotation is 601 rpms at 45mph for the BFG31570R17 tires....good luck

The $75.00 is TOO HIGH.its a .5 labor at most. The BRAKE system the ONLY thing not covered is PADS if due to normal wear.Proberly a .5 to do a brake check if NOT covered under 3/36.In another words a .5 labor that YOU pay if NOT covered and IF you don't auth.any repair.(new pads rotors trued etc.)

hounddog......... funny you should ask about the rear brakes.....

because a i type i am on hold with chrysler....... the service writer called back to say that. nope the pads wil not be covered under warrantee, they are 65.00 plus 70.00 for installation........

i told him that is unnacceptable, that a chrysler part failed, and that it resulted in a damaged rotor(which they will only turn, not replace) and prematurely worn pads.......he said i need to call chrysler direct and jump them over it, so i calmly called them, and i am now on hold while chrysler is on the other line with the service writer.........

btw, they say that the caliper is sticking........i would have sworn that it was both rears, but they claim only the drivers side rear, so i will try to go look at it on the rack this evening or tomorrow.

just got off the phone with chrysler..........

they will replace and install the brake pads, free of charge..

the rotor they will turn..i am not happy about that, but i guess i will take what i can get...

they also said that on an item repaired under warrantee, that the item is allowed a 12month 12k warrantee on it, since i drive 1000 miles a week, it will be ot in about 3 months.

Even if D.C. had NOT covered the pads the labor to R&R calipers and R&R pads is a overlap. Some times NEW calipers come loaded(pads already in them)put if not to replace caliper requires swapping or installing new pads not $70.00 worth etc.I use to have techs TRY to get me to sell a valve job AND a MAJOR tune at the same time.NOPE! To pull heads you got to pull plugs and wires and dist cap etc.and reset timing etc.when all replaced.OVERLAP! Or a WATERPUMP R&R and opn most auto's/trucks(not all) belts have to be removed. Can't sell belt labor with most water pumps etc.I hate STUPID Service Advisors. You got to sell it and run it like its your OWN shop and use some COMMON sense! You can bet D.C. warranty NO"S and KICKBACKS any claims with labor overlap such as that.

UPDATE:

well, i got the truck back from the dealer yesterday.

they installed a new transfer case, new yoke, and new u-joint.
new hubcap on the front drivers side
new apillar due to the busted grab handle
new tail light socket strip_said that it is a known problem and prone to failure due to corrosion.
new caliper, rotor, pads.
and a new light bulb in the rear

my total bill for all repairs came in at $ 3.69, for the new light bulb

it took about 6 days longer than they had originally estimated, but seems that once they have the truck your hands are tied as to expediting the repairs.

Yeah, there's a TSB that Dodge/Chrysler will cover the cost of replacement bulbs to keep customers happy. Maybe you can show it and ask for a refund.

Here's the link

Bulbs have always been under the basic warranty.Wiper BLADES WERE and its not big deal but they UNOFFICALY now say 12/12 but I warranted MANY under 3/36.No where does it say there not 3/36 in the warranty coverage. To me thats REAL picky that they UNOFFICALY are not covered. But I'm GLAD you got your truck back FIXED and for all that work a reasonable amount of time etc.
