48RE trans issue

2003 Dodge QCSB, bonestock engine, no chips, injectors or turbo. Rebuilt tranny this past spring with Suncoast heavyduty rebuild kit, triple disc converter, and RevMaxx valvebody. I dont sled pull, haul heavy, or drag race. Trans has been working great all summer, decided to do a service on it after about 15k miles of driving since new rebuild. Replaced filter and adjusted front and rear bands to factory service manual specs and of course new fluid was used. That was done first of august. Now here about two weeks ago driving along about 45 mph in town my tranny all the sudden acts like its in neutral, ease out of throttle and slips back in gear and I go on my way. Later that day went to drive an hour home and I am tooling along and it does it again. This time I have to stop the truck, shut it off, and restart my trip again. Shifts fine up to OD, first town i come to have to slow down for into what I feel is neutral again. Problem has been going on for two weeks now and is about as predicatable as the weather. Somedays shifts just fine others its will go into its mis-shift mode. Im lost as to what it could be. Pulled the pan off last night to check it out and no metal, excessive clutch material, not burnt smelling, checked the bands they are good, new filter and fluid back together.

I guess I am looking to see if anyone else has experienced this issue and what they did to correct it. The valvebody is under warrenty still so if its that I just need to send it back but right now its my DD and Im trying to keep from taking it down for too long.

Thanks in advance.

Try resetting your APPS(accellerator pedal positon sensor). Disconnect your batteries for 1/2 hr. Reconnect batteries, turn on key but do not start, with the key in this position, slowly depress the accellerator all the way to the floor, and slowly let it lift back up to the idle position. Do this 3 times, turn key off, now start your truck and test.

I know this does not make alot of sense to you, but replacing my APPS with one from Timbo, corrected a bunch of tranny issues for me, yours may just need calibrated, and it's a free excersize.

Thanks for the idea. I will try that. Is there a way to tell if that is the issue or if it needs replaced?
