48re shifting questions

From 1st-2nd,2nd-3rd it shifts hard but from 3rd-4th,4th-OD it shifts light. Is this normal or is something out of adjustment.

Sounds normal for a built trans and Shift Enhancer. Its better for the trans that way.

A quick firm shift spends less time spin the clutches against the steels and burning thru the oil on them. The cluches are designed to cushion the shift by slipping on the steels with a film of oil until the clamping force takes over. The lack of pressure and slide shifting ends making too much heat and friction and chewing the clutch material off faster than it should. Yes, the correct shifting action is in direct conflict with all the NVH endeavors.

That said, a shift should be firm and positive but not neccessarily knock dust off the headliner. Not that is bad but it can get old after a bit.
