I have no power mods and @ 80,000 miles if I hold it wide open from stand still to 70 mph my truck will defuel before it shifts into drive. Mid range power sucks in my truck. Not because of the engine, but because my tranny isn't built strong enough to handle the torque released when shifting at WOT, so it defuels to prevent slipping. Slipping=heat and heat= a short tranny life. From my point of view diesel power stated it best when they referred to the 48RE as a slushbox. Off the line power sucks as well. I'm building my tranny before I touch anything other than an intake. I'm going to try billet input shaft, TC and VB first. I plan on stacking a smarty and an MP8 adding and an intake and lots of gauges.

Weren't you able to get out of your auto & into that 6 speed? If it is you I'm thinking of, how did you do it? I need out of this one & into a 6 sp. myself. I am sooooooooo done w/ this one it's not even funny. TIA

 

I am not sure what state you live in but your dilemma sounds like you qualify under lemon laws. You should check it out.
