I read a thread that said the 03 exhust was only 4 inch after the muffler. Is this true? I haven't measured mine but I assumed it was 4 inch from the turbo outlet to the tail pipe.

 

If I recall correctly...it's 3.5" from turbo to muffler and then 4" from muffler to tailpipe.

To be exact, the turbo outlet is 4 inches. It tapers down to 3.5 inches to the inlet of the muffler. The outlet of the muffler all the way back to the tail pipe is 4 inches.

I haven't been inside the 2003 muffler yet but in all the previous ones the interior of the muffler has the tubing at or below 2.5 or 2.75 inches. The neck down as you enter the muffler to 3.5 inches is only the beginning of the restriction. The Ford is the worst it necks down to 2.5 inches and then makes 2 180 degree turns through two sets of non tubing baffles, and really small 1/8th inch or less louvers, you can't blow anything thru it!
