4" Air Filter Service Intervals

What's the typical service interval for the thicker 4" air filters? Currently the filter has 25k miles and the filter minder showing 65%.

I change mine at 20K miles, even though the filter minder says it's still ok. It always looks dirty and for me, 20K miles has been about a year's worth of driving so I figure I got my money's worth out of it.

I recently relocated and am now working part-time from home and this past year barely put 5K miles on the truck. I guess I'll be changing it in about 3 more years!

As long as they are installed correctly (i.e. sealed box, no leaks) air filters actually filter BETTER as they get loaded up to capacity. Capacity on the 4" thick filter is 540g of dirt…that's ALOT of dust (over a pound). Mine looked like this before I changed it at 30k--

Thanks. It's been in there for a few years now so I'll go ahead and change it in the next few months.
