4.10 vs. 3.73

I just found out from Dodge that my 2500 Diesel is in stage D1, ( ready to build but not yet building ) soooo since I ordered a 3.73 I can chance it to a 4.10 if I need to . Right now I'm going to be pulling a 5000 Wilderness T.T. What are your thoughts? Thanks again...Dave :

Dave.

Your baby will not feel 5000#. If you told me 12,000# or 15,000# I would say go for the 4.10. I have the 4.10 and love it, but I would have the 3.73 if my tow was only 5000.

Bob

I agree with Bob. ;D

I've had the 4.10s before. They're best utilized at the higher end of the towing limits. Heck, I live in an area of the country with high (and often steep) mountain passes and I think you'd need a pretty hefty load to need those 4.10s.

Best to y'all
Bill

3.73

I am 20,000# totally loaded and towing my RV with 3.73

At times I could use a 4.10, but most time won't be pulling this big a load, so can use the mileage factor and the 3.73 ain't bad at all, even with the above

Hunter
