if i buy a tc switch will i get any better bracking down hill?

If you do, it's not really going to be much. I know when I put one on my 47RE, I got nearly no braking until I put on an exhaust brake with trans controller. If you're going to do something like that, then I would call one of the tranny shops like DTT or ATS. They can give you some good advice on what to do without ruining your tranny. Also remember that you are your own warranty station.
