When I was shopping for my 3500 I found quite a few 2wds, they seemed to be more common in the south but they are out there. The biggest downside to a 2wd DRW truck is how helpless they are in snow or even wet grass for that matter.

That is kinda funny. Most people I know here in Mississippi want a 4wd and all we can find is 2wd around here. I just bought a 4wd from a guy who goes to Texas to get them because he can't buy enough to meet demand around here. Look east they are abundant over here.

even a 4x4 dually is almost useless... rears clog up and fronts dig pullin the rears out... reason i have a SRW 3500.. if i wanna tow 500 more lbs? add a leafs or airbags will do... not much a 3500 wont tow tho...
at least with a 4x4 on a dually tho.. u have a chance of gettin out.. 2wds are much better for hot shotters tho... IMHO

I run highway most of my miles but drving between Northern Illinois and New England there have been times that without 4 wheel the truck just would spin when a headwind hits me. And yes I have also had to use the 4 wheel on wet level grass.
