22 blahhhh

22 blahhhh

hey guys i had an 04 dodge 5.9 with a quadzilla chip set on 3 140 hp i belive.anyway it would hit boost numbers with the stock turbo around 40 to 45 thats all i had on along wtih the quad intake .i got an 06 now with the same exact intake and ive tried both bully dog and smarty and stock and it wont get over 22??? i just installed a quad scout moniter could it be bad maybe? or turbo bad? thanks guys

Boost fooler, neither of those products boost fool.

Crimp the boost reference line on the turbo closed to rule out a bad turbo. You should be able to hit 40 psi easily.

If that doesn't work or work well you have a bad ECU.

Bad ecu? Forgive my ignorance I'm still learning.and what like exz do I need to crimp? Jut pinch it closed where is this line located? Trhanks

ECU is the computer that runs all the engine and power train functions. Some of the 06-07's have had issues with the CANBUS protocols and drivers and they just go bad and cause problems like this.

Look at the turbo from the botton and you will see a hose that runs outboard to inboard. It controls boost to the waste gate, if the controller is bad it opens the waste gate too soon and you get no boost. Crimp it closed with a small pair of vice grips and see if your boost goes to where it is supposed to.

so you mean like the computer on the truck goes bad? wonder what kind of warranty they have on them funny you mention that cause i went to my buddies shop yesterday to hook up his comp to my odp port and it wouldnt reconize my truck.he had to hdrag our his mopar computer which is a pain to get it to work he said computer might be bad?i just had that big fuse box under the hood replaced i wonder if that could have something to do with it?

well i just finished crimping off the line and drove it.still no cigar. but it did throw a code leading me to belive it is building boost code po234 turbo over boost condition which tells me maybe its building boost the monitor istn reading it right? another code too it threw was code po513 invalid skim key??? wth is that

Yeah, the monitor is not correcting for the MAP sensor correctly. That could be the ECU or just the monitor. You need a boost fooler and a manual gauge. The electronic monitors are just not reliable at times. Sounds like it is boosting correctly but you could still have a pooched ECU.
