2007 48RE with 5.9

Is the 48RE something to worry about if I leave the truck stock? Does it require more attention than the Ford and GM transmissions? Thanks.

First off, welcome to DTR. IMO if you leave it stock, you'll be fine. Even with a mild, safe tuner I think you'd be fine.

Welcome to DTR.. the 48re has a bad rep because of all the torque that can be produced with an ENHANCED 5.9. If you leave it stock it is a great tranny and with normal service will last a long time. The 2 biggest killers of the 48re is slip (which creates heat) and heat. So if you tow heavy or like to be silly with the pedal I do recommend a torque converter..
