2003 O/D Switch
2003 O/D Switch
Does anyone know how to take this switch apart?
When I press it, it doesn't switch. If I press it a few times, then it works. Then I have to press it a few times to get it to go back on. I think it may be dusty or corroded. Will find out when I take it apart.
Also, I have read about using a switch to change the normal start up operation as O/D on to O/D off. Good idea? There was nothing specific about the 03.
Thanks!
Randy

Took the switch apart today.
Remove the covers from around the steering column. Including the panel underneath of it.
Disconnect the two wire connector and snake it through the sift linkage until you have it in front of you.
You pry off the end of the shift lever (it comes off easily), then pop the button off.
Push the two wires through the bottom of the shift lever and the switch pops right out.
I pried the switch apart with a small screw driver.
Recrimped all of the connectors, tested the switch - works ok every time.
Put everything back together.
Voila - a working O/D switch. One more thing repaired ...
