Ken, hope you're on the mend. Good luck getting DC to step up and fix this once and for all.

Looks like they might owe you a new truck......

Well if he is not a troll then that is a pretty lousy first post IMO. BTW how does one "crack" a catalytic converter?? Excessive heat or engine problem is about the only way. Not really related to the trans except if he was running excessive exhaust temps. That means either towing too heavy for the truck, or running a fuel box. I'd like to see the work orders on the truck to see what actually has been done. Tar and feathers are waiting....

With a post like that, I'm not surprised.

I don't know how the cat converter cracked, and I don't think he does either. Just like he doesn't know how his truck has gone through two OD units and a tailshaft housing. Or 5 batteries. He hasn't done any mods, he wants it to run the way it's supposed to first.

And as far as a lousy first post, he came here looking for advice from anybody who might have had a similar problem. What he got was some advice, and some garbage to go along with it.

Time to pull your head out of the sand. Dodge drops the occasional turd like every other auto maker. I don't pretend these problems don't exist, I address them as they become apparent. I've dropped hundreds on my steering and it still ain't right. Lots of folks with 24v motors replaced lift pumps, some more than one. Maybe that's why so many of the over valved ones are running fuel pressure gauges and pusher pumps. Sound familiar?

I told this guy what a great bunch of helpful folks we have on this board, and spots is trying to make a liar out of me.....

The part that is so stunning to most reading this, is the 48re is not "known" for cracking tranny housings. To have three crack on one truck is mind boggling.

You can fill a viberation at 78 to 83 miles per hour nothing below 78 and nothing above 83.
The only time the transmission or over drive case cracks is when I drive 10-12 hours days at speed of 65-85 miles per hour. This is when you feel the viberation at 78-82 miles per hour.
We know people have been complaining of driveline vibration, some trucks are worse than others. What we could be dealing with here is an extream case. What will happen to a truck when it continues to be operated with a bad case of driveline vibration. What I would like to know is, how bad is the vibration? slight wiggle? major wobble causing things to vibrate in the cab?

To answer one of your questions directly: The only way you will know is to drive your truck at speed to see if it will vibrate again. Three times for the same problem I believe qualifies you for some sort of lemon law. I think you are breaking new ground with this problem. Please check back and let us know what the outcome was...

I'll bet when the overdrive unit exploded, it hit the catalytic converter and cracked it that way. That, or the driveshaft hit it.

If I'm correct, 3 times for the same problem constitutes a lemon. Now, if that was the case, couldn't every 24v on the road be considered a lemon cause of the lift pump problems.

Good luck man on getting this thing settled.

Good question, but would they really do anything with that many lemons without the Feds. getting involved? I doubt it.

He did say 03. Not only that, he doesn't state if it is a 47RE or 48RE. That's my question?

I can not understand why you dont open your glove box and pull out that paper work that you threw in there that explains about the lemon law. Quit wasting your time, get on it I would never have had that many things happen to my truck and still be the owner of it. This all has happened within the 1 year anything breaks you fix it period. If you are for real do something
