10.5 rear axel fill mark
I have a 2003, with a 10.5 rear end and I will be doing the change myself.but how far to the fill hole do I fill it, how much gear lube, also foot lbs for bolts. thanks

I have the same axle. There is a TSB out that says to fill the 10.5" AAM axle to 1" below the hole, +/- 1/4". Apparently if you don't do that, it could cause "foaming". Personally, I think that's crap and just filled mine to the bottom of the hole like any other axle. No problems so far in the 20k miles since I changed it.

I bought a gallon jug of Amsoil Long Life Synthetic Gear Lube SAE 75W-90 at Napa. You'll probably need around 3 quarts of it. Be careful not to overtorque the cover bolts. I just snugged them up with a 3/8" ratchet and had no leaks. You can re-use the original gasket after cleaning it up.
