'07 5.9 P2146 - Nothing obvious

Have an '07 5.9 that was running perfectly and the next morning threw a P2146 code and is now running like crap. I ohm'd the harness and the injectors, all were well within spec with the 2nd injector being I believe .3 (others were .1). I ended up replacing the valve cover gasket (harness) and same issue.

Do I just assume it's number 2 injector, even though .3 shouldn't be an issue. All other wiring looks good, tried disconnecting the batteries a few times, batteries fully charged, etc. The truck is a garage queen and is spotless.

Thanks for any help

Using an IR Thermometer like
this"><span style=this" /> this">this
, check the temps at each cylinder's exhaust port and you will probably see #2 much lower than the others. If so, it's probably time to pull the injector. There are several options.
  1. Pull #2 and replace it, or
  2. Pull all 6, send them out for testing and rebuild,
  3. Replace all 6.
On my '03, I had one go bad and sent them all out. Several were borderline. I had them all rebuilt by F1. Engine ran great afterwards.
Back to morning brew . . .

I'll try that - It's got 98,000 on the clock and I've had a 2 micron filter on since 60,xxx - Always run extra fuel lubricant. If money were no object, I'd throw six new sticks on but I'd rather not at the moment.

I did temp them and #2 was slightly cooler after running a minute or so.

I also than hooked up a better code reader. I had just pulled the first code with my Edge Monitor. When I hooked up the code reader I was able to get a code (can't recall what) for cylinder #2.

I ordered a new injector solenoid and installed it and it fired right up. Wasn't a bad install and I'm going to order an extra to keep in the tool box, just in case.
