06 with 7k, noticded a tapping sound coming from front of motor. Also seems to be down on power. Any clues????

 

At idle or while driving?

 

i have also noticed the same thing slight tapping at idle,mine goin to dealer after ichange the oil filter

 

I have no such noise.
(Have heard of it though)

 

do you regularly work it hard, tow? use any fuel additive? most of the tapping noises associated with the 3rd gens, are from injectors. use a good fuel treatment such as stanadyne or power service(there are others as well) and hook up something heavy and blast up a hill with it.

 

THAT may be why mine hasn't done it.

 

yeah, alittle cylinder heat goes a long way to keeping the injector tips clean.

 

I thought diesels were supposed to shake, rattle and roll...
