Guys,

I've got an 06 H.O. Dodge 2500 6 speed. The truck has 4000 miles on it and I LOVE it.

However, it does have something going on the I can't figure out. Maybe its normal but I doubt it.

First, the motor seems much noiser than when it was new. Its not just my opinion but my wife notices it and my best friend asked me about it.

Secondly, the truck's performance is really strange, sometimes its got a ton of power and sometimes it runs fine but doesn't seem to have near the power it did before.

I've got a ScanGauge II on it and it shows the max boost being the same whether it runs good or not.

Also I have a PPE Xcelerator that does the same thing. Set at the middle setting it sometimes spins the tires on a dry road in 4th gear at full boost and other times the truck doesn't seem to run a whole lot better with or without it.

Another "clue" is the Scangauge always shows the computer as "Not Ready" but there are no "codes".

The truck starts and runs fine other than the above. No codes, no hard starting, etc.

I have an 04.5, and it does both things that you describe. ??? Sometimes, I get on the skinny, and it's like my wife's hemi, other days, it's like I have my 10K on it. The noise thing, I think that it's just getting broke in...

 

when they changed to the low sulfer fuel mine started to get noiser....
