Will the 06 shifter work in the 05's I like the way it's angled closer to the driver.

I removed my shift lever ('03, NV-5600) & had a tube bending shop put two bends in it, which, moved the shiftlever about 2" closer to the driver.

If you do this, though, the powder coating will pop off the shift lever & you will have to clean it up (sandblast) & repaint it. I painted mine silver. The only problem is that the silver shows dirt.

I've been thinking about having it chromed but, chrome shops, around here, take forever to do the job. I'd have to buy a replacement shifter while I waited for the chrome job.

If you do this, mark on the nut on the bottom of the shift lever which direction is forward. Otherwise, your bends could end up where you don't want them.

I made a life sized drawing of the shift lever & super-imposed the bends & shape of the lever that I wanted. That way, the bender could just place the lever on my drawing ot see if he had bent it enough, or not. Worked great!

can be fixed by shimming the shifter [rotate ccw] or grinding the bottom thread down [rotate cw]

the shift pattern disc will pop out with a small screwdriver. under it is a nut. you will need a 15mm socket to get it off. the threads on the shifter stock are M10x1.5. if your t-handle is a 3/8"nc, you can chase the threads of it with a Metric 10x1.5 tap and it will screw onto the stock shaft..
