I was out scouting for fall deer hunting and got into some deep sand. I turned the switch for 4x4 and nothing happened. Used it the day before with no problems. I checked the 25A fuse and its good. I looked at the connectors at the transfer case and they were clean. Is there a 4x4 relay? (I didn't see one in the fuse box) Or, is my transfer case motor bad?

 

Do you know what transfer case you have? It should be listed on a silver and red tag on the back of the transfer case.

 

The tag says New Process Gear 273D

Had the same problem in a Dakota. Turned out to be the control module.
