my friends 04 CTD is stalling and wont start unless it sits for 10 min. it will start to stumble at times and other times it just dies and wont start. any ideas?

computers dont belong in work truck

 

My best guess would be the lift pump,just had the same thing happen to me. Is he throwing any codes? Maybe fuel filter?

 

no codes and it was just serviced because of this prob.but its still doing it
truck is all stock

 

Could be something simple like the computer needing a reflash. I recently had a hard starting/rough idle problem when the weather turned cooler. Reflash fixed it. Also, see the thread posted on here about the shorted wire on the AC line.
