I know or read that Dodge is coming out with a heaver duty auto, can anyone get me any info on it for a friend. Will the new auto work with the HO or not? <br><br>KC<br><br>

 

Well to be honest, nobody really knows for sure what's going to happen. We do know this:<br><br>There will be an auto mated to an HO. There are already a few test trucks going to dealers.<br><br>The auto will be the 48RE. So it will be a 4 speed.<br><br>There will be electronics upgrades.<br><br>Don't know if there will be physical upgrades. I'm hoping we'll know more soon, there are a number of threads on the forum here about this. Hope this helps, a little.

 

My dealer told me yesterday that they got word, from how reliable a source I don't know, that the HO/auto combo will likely not be available until the 2004 model. Keep in mind this is The Great White North so they may be out of the loop.

 

The word I have just recieved is that the new Tranny is a 5 speed that will go on the HO Cummins. Expect to pay for it though.
