I have a 04.5 113K miles, with edge attitude programmer. Last week I pulled out onto the highway got up to 60 and immediately got a high EGT alarm. EGTs were at 1350. It ran between 900 and 1250 for about 10 miles on level road then went back to normal. This happened again this week. Does this sound like a bad sending unit in the exhaust manifold or could something else be happening.

 

Always look at the simple things first like maybe a dirty airfilter?

 

Mine acted up one time, it woukd read normal temps and then spike causing the truck to defuel,all this on flat ground at highway speed, I called edge and they said that it sounded like the pyro went bad. They sent me a new one and no problems.

 

I will have to see if I can get a new pyro, put it in and see if it solves the problem.

if you got it less then a year ago, they will replace it under warranty. was the truck running normal, any smoke?

 

Everything else was normal. No smoke, no change in power or sound. The pyro sensor is as least 4 years old so I guess it will be on my nickle.

 

They are pretty cheap from Edge, like $30 if I remember right.
