Hi folks, I'm new to DTR and need some help. I have an 03 4x4 with 110K miles - I tow 8,000 boat 40 miles or so each way 1-2 times per month. As I was towing boat home from storage I stopped at intersection and my truck felt like it wanted to keep going. I was able to shift into neutral - rpm's jumped to 1500 then went to idle. When I put back into gear, the truck lept forward. the truck would not disengaging from 1st gear as I came to a stop. If I kept the truck in gear at a stop, It started smoking (from rear) and I smelled burnt something (clutch??). To get her home I just put in neutral at stop lights and back into gear as I needed. seems to upshift and downshift thru gears fine.

I'm not much of a gearhead and could use some direction?? thanks
