XM in '02 ??

I "think" my '02 has the top stereo - has the CD player on top and tape in the middle. 6 speakers. I've tried a search for info and found nothing. What do I need to do to add xm to my rig ?? Someone said I need a very expensive converter.

Thanks

Lar.

You want be able to control the radio through the head unit. You'll need to buy a sat. radio controller/reciever and connect it to the radio. There are several options for this. There are tape deck adapters or fm modulators. If your radio can control a cd changer, there are adapters to connect through that. Probably can be done for about a hundred or less.

Pretty straight forward to do.

All you need as kreynolds mentioned, a receiver, and either a FM modulator or cassette adapter. and for the most part away you go.

I have the FM modulator in mine for about 6 years now and it works great. Receiver hangs off the dash in it's mount and it works fine.

Hard to go back to terrestrial radio after having satellite!

These guys have everything you need and more, been dealing with them for years.......... http://www.tss-radio.com/

I bought the OnyX receiver the other day and have it mounted in my 4Runner but that has a newer aftermarket Pioneer stereo that is all set for the xm. Wasn't sure about the truck, so will research that website. Thanks.
