i found a 97 2500 ext cab 4x4 5 spd with 80,000 miles on it, interior is pretty much perfect, the body is clean and straight, it is an slt with a few extra options. it was an old grandpa truck and is as stock as can be, they want $17,400 is it worth it, i know these are pretty hard to come by cause ive been lookin for a while, so give me your thoughts thanks, Jordan

 

I would buy it if checks out. Look the front of the engine over for any major oil leaks as in the dowel pin cracking the gear housing it will need securing, drive it and get it hot and check the steering on a rough road for traction bar problems, just do the usual fine tooth comb and if it checks out I would jump on it, I just picked up a 97 2wd with 60k miles and gave 14k$ and I was elated to find it and would have given more. Looks like you are fast at finding them I have it torn down right now putting in a fully splined shaft and SBC con ofe in it and I would reccommend to all on the 5th gear to bite the bullet on the fully splined shaft's if you want peace of mind.
