You got the best of everything-

p7100 pumped 12 valve Cummins
5 speed manual
4x4
Quad doors
And newer updated dash/interior.

The one I saw in 2005 for sale had 39,000 miles on it and the asking price was $34,000. It was loaded with leather and everything. Too much for me for a used truck.

They are getting harder and harder to find with low miles.

Rare as the SB might be, I'd much rather have a LB.

Unless you need four doors the '97 is the grail.
The '98 was supposed to have the 24 valve engine but it wasn't ready. A lot of last minute modifications had to be done so that many electrical parts for the '98 are unique to it, can't swap with older or newer years.

I personally don't like the '98 climate control where you can't turn off the A/C or fan.

I like the shift pattern on my 98 over my 97 , the 4500's have a different top plate or something between the two , the 98 4500 is the best shifting truck I ever had, heres my grail

Holy dead threads Batman, I'll resuscitate it again. I still have the truck I originally started this thread about.

Nice. I have located a 98.5 4x4 quad cab longbed 12V that is exactly like my 2001.5 across town. It is in really nice shape, but not for sale...yet!

Im keeping my eyes open for one as well, but everyone knows they are worth more than KBB.... Im also spying 2000+ year quad cab long bed F250's in great shape that need engine work- would host a 12V quite nicely (although the round wheel wells on the Fords are ugly). I keep telling myself, in just a few years we will have tons of F250 6.0L trucks on the cheap due to engine failure that I can drop a nice 12V into- then I could have my dream modern 12V.

Yeah, the dash tops are garbage. My 97 Chevy's is still like brand new.

The 6.0 Ford's are all over the used lots around here, not surprised, but still not cheap enough for a project.....

I think I got a great truck; 12 v club cab long box 4x4 2500. I have yet to push the 10 plate ahead and finish adding engine brake and in box fan assisted trans cooler. I will be going on a big trip next May for three months hauling my fiver. liking my Ram for sure.

........and I like it too. Funny thing, mine had the 24 valve emblems on the side.
Sure runs good. Paid $2,500.00 about 6 months ago, put another 4 into it. 125K miles.

I am personally waiting for someone to siamese twin two 12 valves together with twin p7100's and put it in a 2002 Quad cab.

A true correctly done 24 valve everyone would love with appropriate door badging...

A true 11.8 liter, 24V Cummins V-12!! Ha ha!!
