I used the search function and can not find anything on 18 inch rims. i have a 2000 2500 with an auto. I am looking to put 18 inch wheels, but what is the widest tire i can get without getting in trouble clearance wise. On the wheels i am looking at, they have a 5 inch back space. I was looking at 285 65 18's i think they will be fine, but i dont know.

you may have an issue with the off-set, but that can be "fixed" with spacers or a different rim if it's really bad, but i thinke they should be ok.

the 18's are .3" bigger in radious. but thats really about it.

 

I am running 18x8.5 MB motoring "Shaker" from Discount tire with LT285/65R18 BF Goodrich ATs no clearance problems at all.

I dont not know the backspacing and could not find out off their website but, if you called them I bet they could found out for you.
